A gravestone should be a fitting tribute to your loved one’s life so it’s important that the choice you make represents their individuality and why they were so special to you. One of the first things to consider is the text or images that you want to appear on the gravestone because this will determine the shape and size of headstone you are likely to need. There are various shapes and sizes of gravestones available and these are the most widely selected:

Upright gravestones – these tend to be quite tall (around three feet), thick (around half a foot) and rounded with a concrete base. Often made from granite and marble these are the most commonly used gravestones that you see.

Flat tablets – these are simpler than headstones, rectangular in shape and lay either flush to the ground or slightly raised. Usually made from granite or bronze, they are less expensive than headstones and not as resistant to weather conditions.

Desk tablets – these resemble miniature upright gravestones and are sometimes kept in place by a granite or cement foundation.

Gravestones for children/teenagers – these can be tailored to your requirements with carvings featuring angels, hearts and teddy bears commonly used for young children and headstones more focused on hobbies, sports etc for teenagers.

With a large selection of high quality granite, marble, slate or sandstone gravestones and designs to choose from we use traditional hand-carved lettering techniques to beautifully craft your selected gravestone inscription.
